This device gives you a very good overview of the vehicle's systems. If something is wrong, it will definitely manifest itself as a malfunction. After that, however, you need to go through the codes and really figure out what the problem is. In many cases only a certified dealer can solve the problem. But at least this device gives you an idea of the condition of your car when you go to the store, so you know the store isn't pointing you in the wrong direction. But if you are a really good mechanic, this tool is very valuable.
