Fur. I'll stick with my Carbohellos or Caran D'ache

These white charcoal pencils may be suitable for children but not for serious artists. As a pastel artist I'm always looking for the whitest white and the darkest black. The demo I've drawn here was created on Clairefonte Charcoal Pastelmat paper, the paper favored by many pastelists. As you can see, the Dyvicl brand (above) is the lightest of the four brands (Dyvicl, Carbothello, Derwent and Cara D'ache). My favorites in order of preference: 1) Carbothello - great coverage, easy to use, doesn't break, blends well, good price 2) Generals - Chinese white, love this one for clear marking, good price, I forgot, to include it sample photo 3) Derwent - good price, harder pen, so well detailed, brand doesn't have many colors 4) Caran D'ache - good coverage, very expensive Personally I wouldn't bother with Dyvicl at all. If you're just doing a craft project, this might work for you. It depends on what you want from a pastel or charcoal pencil.
