I needed a 3 inch fan for the bathroom. I think I could use the 4" fan that is more common, but the size of the hole cut was an issue. The vent tube is exactly 3 inches long, which means if you need to connect it to anything, you'll have to crimp one of the ends. Most elbows are crimped and most tube extensions are crimped at one end. Pipe that has not been upset. I ended up crimping the breather hood tube to fit the flex tube. The device installed without any problems and works great. However, note that it won't work if you need something larger like 4 inches.
