This is a good tool but there is no quality control. The first one I got had a large chip on the top and the carbide blades were sharpened at an angle maybe 15-20 degrees off center, I mean the side angle not the cutting edge. I sent the first one back, the second one is completely different, the concentricity is good, the edges are sharpened straight. I greased the set screws and sharpened the carbide tips slightly. Now that's a great plane. I cut out several MDF shelves and a piece of plywood in a few minutes. The finish is as good as my router and twice as fast. This would have been a 5 star rating if it hadn't been for the first slipplane quality check.
