Review on Potty Train Dog Door Bell - Daytech Doggie Doorbells for Effective Doggy Potty Training by Tony Lawrence

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The dog tries to make it ring.

Decent product. I love that it comes with three bells for a loud chime because I'm sure I can hear it ringing wherever I am in the house. Easy to install and everything is so good. But I don't mind because my dog can't ring the bell that easily. My problem is that the dog has to touch the center of the bell for it to sound. My puppy understands what I mean when I say "ring" and tries to ring it, but even though she touches him with her paw, head, nose and body, sometimes even using her teeth when nothing works, it may still not ring if she doesn't touch it in the middle. I've said "try again" so many times that when I use that phrase, she now knows to try again. She's bored, so every time she calls I have to throw a party. I was brimming with treats, praise, rubbing and hugs. I saw on camera how she tried to call when no one was there and she gave up and sat and whimpered. Poor guy. I'm not saying it's hard for her all the time. Sometimes it hits the right spot, sometimes it doesn't, and you have to try multiple times. Despite that, I'm giving it 3 stars. My poor pup fails if she doesn't touch the middle. I've tried removing it to give it a break and then we'll try again when she's older, but there's a good chance it will be removed. No luck there. So I made her keep trying until she called. My twopence is for him to ring while the dog puts his hands on him. There shouldn't be a specific place to touch.
