Review on 🛶 Malone Auto Racks Deluxe Foam Kit for Two SUP Boards by Eddie Fowler

We have two surfboards. My husband has a huge barge and I have an achievement board. We installed a Thule stand on our Forrester, but we didn't want to keep using an old yoga mat to blast it apart and not hurt each other. We originally bought this kit just for the spacers. It was a very affordable solution. When our car had an accident we had a rental car but still wanted to use our boards while the car was in the shop. We were lucky that the entire roof kit was already purchased. When we first used it the [green] straps came loose as we were on the freeway and the boards twisted a bit to one side. It was terrible. We made sure they were tight and tightened correctly, but they just came loose - maybe the wind was too strong on the track? The second time we used the whole set the little black straps penetrating the foam dividers broke - only the plastic clasp on the strap broke - maybe too much tension this time? In any case, I don't think it's a durable product for its intended use. The straps aren't very strong, but the foam detailing is superb. I think this product is good if you are in an emergency or need something temporarily, otherwise I would suggest investing in a more permanent/reliable solution.
