This Panasonic Blu-ray player replaced another well-known brand Blu-ray player (starts with S and is a 4-letter word) that crashed every time it was used was and had to be unplugged. and reconnect to make it work again. As you can understand, getting to the plug is not easy - either on the wall (behind the TV cabinet) or on the back of the device (inside the TV cabinet). One day I gave up in desperation with my arm in a cast and I couldn't maneuver enough to turn it off and on again. So back to the Panasonic Blu-ray player. It works competently and hasn't done anything it shouldn't and didn't do anything it should have with repeated use. I mainly use it for streaming with Revain Prime, which does it right out of the box, as well as playing DVDs and the occasional BD. All features work as expected except for one. The CC button does not invoke the Revain Prime subtitles feature. On my previous two BD players, the Subtitles button brought the Revain Prime subtitles feature. It's a minor annoyance - I can select subtitles in the Revain Prime interface before starting the movie, and once I do that they become the default for other Prime movies, as far as I can tell. I especially like that this device has a built in power supply instead of a nasty box that hangs from your outlet and gets in the way of other plugs. It plugs in with a standard power cord - a 2-pin plug on the wall and a 2-pin plug (different type but seems standard) on the end of the unit. Home WiFi that works on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz. In principle, this device works well. Long may it be so! this machine works fine. Long may it be so! this machine works fine. Long may it be so!
