I've been using Sony upscaling for a while but found (like many others) that Sony players were problematic and often short lived so I turned to this Panasonic when Sony was stuck for too long. This Panasonic Blu-ray player replaced another well-known brand Blu-ray player (starts with S and is a 4-letter word) that crashed every time it was used was and had to be unplugged. and reconnect to make it work again.
