Review on 📀 Panasonic 4K Blu Ray Player - DP-UB420-K (Black), Ultra HD Premium Video Playback, Hi-Res Audio, Voice Assist by Ananta Crowley

Judging by the majority of positive reviews for this product my experience may be unique but just in case a word or two of caution. After the recent death of my Sony Playstation I did some research and bought a replacement. I'm not a gamer. I just want to play my DVDs and BluRays. Having seen that all Sony and LG players suffer from freezes and other issues, I was glad to find this Panasonic DP-UB420 relatively trouble-free in contrast. Set up was easy according to the brochure: Connect power, connect HDMI cable, follow on-screen instructions. The HDMI cable did not come with the unit as advertised, but I bought two 4K Atevon cables, one of which arrived and I connected it to the other high capacity cable that was on my Playstation and the device is switched on. NOTHING, just a blank screen. The "top menu" resulted in a female voice speaking quickly in a foreign language (not Spanish, Japanese, or Chinese) on a blank screen. Waiting 10, 15, 30 minutes didn't change anything. Revain tech support couldn't help for an hour trying their suggestions and in the end they suggested I call Panasonic directly. Maybe I'm just spoiled: I'm used to products that work, provide instructions that lead to success, and for which I don't need a first-class technical background and for which there is no need to contact the manufacturer. Maybe I just got a bad device. It has never been opened and has no damage. Who knows?
