Review on Thermo Tec 16500 Muffler Catalytic Converter by Rusty Calcara
Need better guidance.
Heat shield good. I have not received sufficient instructions for use. I attached the screen directly to the muffler to try to evenly distribute the heat from the metal. I jumped in to reduce the noise from the ticket as the muffler cools. I was hoping to reduce the uneven cooling of the muffler metal. Instead, applying it directly to the muffler caused it to ignite, so a gap is required. The amount is unknown. I dropped the heat shield and replaced the muffler, resonator and associated piping to reduce the noise associated with the cooling process.
