I wish I could return this. Huge waste of money!

This is the worst electronic pencil sharpener I have ever used. I've mostly used it with colored pencils, but I've also tried regular pencils. It's basically a tiny pencil sharpener with a 0.25 cent blade that spins quickly around the pencil (the mechanical design isn't the same as typical office electronic pencil sharpeners). I do it. But you have very little control over it - you press the pin and it starts spinning; it doesn't stop until you remove the stylus, regardless of the point on the stylus. With about every third or fourth pencil, the blades catch on the board and tear it out of my hand. You can't pull it back until you can grip the spinning pin tight enough to disengage it from the trigger. The end result is a large gouge in the wood of the pencil and the shaft of the pencil is broken further down the pencil. As soon as you push it down to use the pencil, the point breaks well below the wood and you have to sharpen it again. To prevent this, you have to hold the pencil very tightly, which will eventually lead to blistering if you sharpen more than a few pencils at a time. Completely ruined a new set of crayons. That sucks. If you get the hang of it and can insert your pencils properly so that the motor barely starts and barely touches the blades, you can end up with a sharpened pencil. They are usually too sharp, and the very thin tip of the lead creases and smudges when you first try to write. But it will work if you get the right pressure. Too much effort to sharpen pencils.

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • Long delivery time
