I don't usually bother to write reviews. However, the disappointment with Friedrich and Silvan (the seller) made me sit down and write a review. I bought this air conditioner because I have had Friedrich air conditioners in the past and it was worth investing in a more expensive air conditioner. More important to this purchase was that I needed a Smart AC with Wi-Fi. The device was set up immediately after delivery and was relatively simple. Unfortunately, WLAN can only be set up via the remote control. The remote control that came with this unit was completely unstable and unusable. Sometimes he responded to button presses, sometimes not. The temperature was far away. After changing the battery, I tried to get support from Friedrich's technical service. After waiting 30 minutes I left a number for a call back. After not calling back after 2 hours, I called again and waited on hold for 50 minutes. I then called the parts department and Bre Anna, a very customer oriented woman, helped me out. She agreed to get me a replacement remote once they were back in stock but didn't know when that would be. I contacted her the following week and she replied apologetically for contacting him but not giving an estimated time of arrival. I contacted Sylvane CS and they told me there was nothing they could do with the manufacturer to expedite the exchange. I think I should expect this with online sales. I'm sure the local seller would have opened the box and given me a working remote control. I checked every week for 4 weeks hoping to get a remote before I left town for a couple of weeks and was desperate for this remote dehumidifier air conditioner. Two days before I left I gave up and spent $119 on a Sensibo Sky to get a Wi-Fi connection to AC. When I needed tech support to work with the unstable remote, I called Friedrich's tech support just as their phones came online that morning. Despite the pleasant nature of the technicians, she was useless as a support. She instructed me to press the remote's display button 10-12 times (manual and app says 6 times) because some customers reported that it worked to connect. She didn't know the FriedrichGo app. She couldn't explain the difference between CF and AP, and neither could anyone else in the engineering department. Later I found the answer myself in the manual. In the end, she agreed to send a replacement remote. I requested overnight delivery so I can use the WiFi when I'm not at home. I was told that this is not possible as it is a free product. After telling her that this was a replacement for defective parts and should not be considered a "free item", she contacted the supervisor and came back with the same message. I spent several hours assembling the Sensibo Sky device and finally got a Wi-Fi connection. , AC unit is effective for rapid cooling and dehumidification. It's relatively quiet. Wi-Fi and the FriedrichGo app are useless. It looks like Friedrich's tech support isn't ready to support the Wi-Fi feature. The app has minimal instructions and looks like an alpha testing app. If you need Wi-Fi, buy a cheaper air conditioner and get the amazing Sensibo Sky.
