annoying relay click. pace is wrong. confusing

Where do I start? When you are in the same room you will ALWAYS hear a clicking sound as the relay cycles on and off to power the heating element. BUT, sometimes it's like a clock ticking. Not that it turns on and off after 15 seconds. It's literally like "tick-tock-tick-tock-tick" - yes, an annoying click in the kitchen. You can see the dial rotating from 150/149/150/149/150 and each time the relay is turned on or off. This is my 2nd unit - the 1st kept blowing circuit breakers. Once I got it working on a special outlet for an hour. With this block, I noticed that the temperature reads 150 even though I set it to 140. But the water was 140 so it was fine (sort of). He does the same on the spare block. Set point: 140 Temp while running - Dial shows: 150 Actual water temp: 140 Temp of meat when done - 140 exactly Crazy that it actually works but some idiot engineer thought the display should show something else. OK, let's continue. When switched on, the timer shows 50 minutes. Okay, not much sous vide cooking in 50 minutes. I've never heard the beep that the manual says should happen when your timer runs out. But my device turns off. The DUMPEST thing a sous vide machine should do when the timer is up is turn it off. Whatever you're cooking, it usually won't be damaged by leaving it at the set temperature for a longer period of time. But you don't hear the beep and it turns itself off and goes back to 119 waters, that's stupid. So I learned to just set it to 50 hours or something (max 99). But it's difficult/annoying. Hold the button and then hold it two more times to make the minutes flash (like setting the original digital clock), then swipe the up arrow (sometimes my down arrow also goes up or vice versa) and wait for it slowly counts up . The silly thing is that if you turn it off and on again, it goes back to 50 minutes, so you'll have to waste time again. Then you have to wait for the programming mode to exit, or (maybe) just turn on the power because if you turn it off you'll have to reprogram it. I don't know about you, but everyone has a lot of timers around the house these days. It's like using my phone or my oven timer for something in the kitchen. It's not that I don't hear the beep. So it's a waste of time to use it for a while. especially when it turns off when the timer is up (which ironically is the silliest thing about my insta casserole - the default is KEEP WARM so I forget to turn it off a couple of times and then the record never gets cold due to the slow release ). it's still on (trust me, the last thing you want in an isolated Instagram pot is for it to STAY WARM by default because shit stays hot for a long time anyway.) Okay, it mostly sucks β€” but for the price I'm going to hit him! Get it out before it breaks and see if I can get a Revain replacement.
