If you've used Linksys routers in the past, this router is for you. It is very easy to use and easy to set up. Wireless network performance is good. Parental controls are a joke and a waste of time - it's not automated by a service that knows which sites are good and which are bad - it's just manual. Even if you change the router's default settings like SSID etc. via the web interface, the thick client on the desktop will no longer work. It doesn't matter to me since I use Blue Coat K9 and/or McAfee for parental controls, but if you're a very technical user who likes customization AND want P controls, this might not be for you. Both beginners and laypersons should appreciate the simple operation and problem-free commissioning in just a few minutes. The price is so cheap that it is almost a commodity. I only gave it 4 stars because they shouldn't even advertise that it has parental controls - in fact it doesn't. I also gave their tech support very low scores - but I haven't contacted LinkSys support in years. The last time I did that, the tech told me I needed to install NetBEUI on my computer to fix the problem, and then got angry when I explained that NetBEUI had nothing to do with an IP router. In terms of reliability, LinkSys has always been pretty good. I had 4 or 5 LinkSys routers and only one of them failed - and that was after about 4 years of use - until then I still had to upgrade to the latest wireless specification.
