Review on Moog RK621912 Control Joint Assembly by Justin Luna

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great homework, a good bit overall.

Fits 2004 Ram 1500 4x4. The part looks the same. The ball joint has a lubricated connection, which is a big plus. It was only with a sleeve on the side with no torsion bar. There are no new screws included. It came with a crown nut but I was missing a wire pin. The bottom screw needs a hex to keep it from turning. Not a fan of it but hopefully I never have to take it off. I will check if I have premature wear. I replaced everything except the stabilizer bar so nothing should wear out prematurely. The ball joint was stuck in the old forearm. If you have less rust and corrosion, you can probably press out the ball joint instead of buying the entire forearm. I swapped out almost all of the suspension parts, so I completely removed everything and then put it back together. You can probably disconnect everything from the arm and leave it connected at the top, but if you're a shade tree mechanic it becomes a tight fit. I didn't have to unload the torsion bar because the weight was gone when I pulled everything off. If you're expecting rust or corrosion, grab a propane or mapping flashlight and a short-handled hammer and get ready to fight it all. Both sides of the truck were replaced. It took me about 8 hours of work in 2 days to disassemble the parts. The exchange took less than half. My photos do not show the replaced rack as I lost the top nut that came with it and had to take it to the hardware store at the time of the last photo.
