Review on Samsung 870 QVO 2TB SSD: Superior SATA III 2.5" Storage (MZ-77Q2T0B) by Jay Chowdhury

I connected it to my desktop PC but it didn't show up. I went to disk management and it showed it had two partitions. One was 2048GB and the other was about 1930GB. I removed the partition to format the entire drive, but that option didn't appear in Windows. I was able to format 2048 but couldn't remove the partition to get all the space. Also, the extra space was not formatted. So I downloaded gParted Live and erased the drive. gParted only showed 1 partition and when I tried to format NTFS it gave me an error. I tried other file types with the same error. I've tried other SATA cables, I've also tried this in an external dock that was currently running another mechanical drive. All had the same results on Windows and gParted.Defective drive.Returned. Will update when I get a replacement. August 21, 2020 Ok, the drive had the same problem. In gParted you need to go to the device menu and change the partition to gpt and then format NTFS. Nothing else works. Well, one more thing. I downloaded the Samsung migration tool. It copied my C to a new drive, booted and was full size. I moved it to another computer and it got messed up again. I don't know why it didn't stick. So if you use it as your primary PC drive (I don't), just run the Samsung migration tool. Then it seems to work fine. I'm not sure why it isn't fully formatted for NTFS.
