These collars are fantastic. We use them without bumpers and have not had to use them. Sound signal and vibration are abundant. The only drawback is that the remote control is not waterproof. With our four dogs we go rafting and kayaking on the river. The collars are waterproof and will work while the dogs are swimming, but the remote controls must be kept in a plastic bag. One of the packages leaked in the rough water and the remote control was damaged. Good. We have four remotes and only use two at a time (2 pairs of collars on the remote). We deducted one star because the remote control was not waterproof. Otherwise 6 stars!
