Motorheads should get it!

Here is a before and after video of installing the AFe air intake system on my 2010 Golf GTI. Unfortunately, the sound quality on the video isn't very good, but you can still hear the turbo and blow-off whistles. time because I didn't have the right tools for it, but other than that it was pretty easy. In terms of performance, I feel the extra power. It is said to add another 14 hp. At 14hp I'm not sure but I feel like 8-9hp. Easier. I really like the turbo whistle and blow off sound. It's not too loud, nothing like an STD (!), but with the windows down it's easy to spot. With the windows open, the flushing noise was audible with every gear change up to fifth gear, but not as loud in fifth and sixth gears at these relatively higher speeds. The only thing I don't like is a bit of vibration I feel at around 3500rpm to 5000rpm. It is more noticeable on the clutch pedal. I know the ECU needs to be reconfigured/reprogrammed for this intake as it allows more air into the engine. I've heard that the ecu is trying to adjust via the mass airflow sensor, but after about 1000 miles it's still there (much less than the first day the aFe filter was installed). I think I'll have to tune the ECU at some point. I should note that the vibration isn't harsh, just that you will feel it if you're very sensitive. I highly recommend it to MotΓΆrhead and Turbo fans! Cabin! aFe still recommends reprogramming the ECM for optimal performance with this cold air intake. This doesn't necessarily cause vibration though, as it turns out that the vibrations I experienced were caused by a collision between one of the intake components and part of the engine (see the comments below for details). I fixed this collision and now there is no vibration at all at any speed.
