I've been wearing the smaller of these studs for a few months now. With my old nose screw, I had to constantly fiddle with the jewelry as it kept turning and poking my nostril. These stay secure all day - I never have to fiddle with them and I don't feel them at all even when I'm blowing my nose. Another problem I had with my old jewelry was that it was mostly cylindrical so if you looked straight at me you could only see the metal side of the piercing. These rivets are flatter so the real shiny crystal part is more visible from the front. I haven't worn the larger one but the smaller one is perfect for what I wanted - very thin but still catches the light when I turn around. The only issue I had was when I had to scratch my nose (thanks to seasonal allergies) - I had a few scares when it fell out with little resistance. Luckily I was able to find it quickly, but it's so small it's very easy to lose it. However, I really don't have to take any more precautions than with any other nostril jewelry (e.g. be careful when a towel wipes my face). Overall I am very happy with my purchase. I would pay the same amount for one of these bobby pins let alone two.
