Review on WHITE BLACK+DECKER 14,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner with Heat and Remote Control for 350 sq ft, BPACT14HWT by George Bell

Don't buy this. Mine broke after a month of use. I followed all the instructions to keep the filters (three of them) clean and the water bowl empty. I made sure there was enough space between it and the wall. However, after just over a month of use, problems began. First the compressor stopped, started beeping repeatedly and showed 90 on the display. I turned it off. let him sit Then I cleaned all the filters (again) and emptied the water bowl. At night it worked and in the morning it stopped again with the same squeaking. I called the hotline and they told me he was just overheating. I let him sit again. Booted back as I was told. Changed to a warmer setting of 80 instead of 78. After about 1.5 hours it had stuttering noses from the compressor and shut off again. I called the same repairman again who said it was the compressor that needed replacing. It takes 48 hours for them to call me back and organize a replacement. And then delivery takes a week. It can therefore take up to two weeks before you receive a new block. It couldn't work like that. I used to have an LG device that never gave me any problems. I used it too cool, the room is the same size as this one. I also used it from a generator in Irma's time. During this time he was taken to and from various houses. Never had a problem. I replaced it with this one when I gave LG to my parents. I had to replace it with an LG boot. I now have a much more expensive Black and Decker that is unusable and will be in South Florida in 90 degree heat for two weeks until replaced. You will not return the money. So I either have a lot of money and buy a new brand today or wait up to two weeks for it to be replaced. Don't be fooled by the positive reviews here. It is not worth. But instead LG. It sucks.
