Too many wires in computer accessories and peripherals

It has 3 wires and I had to connect 2 for my speaker to work. When I bought it I thought it only had 1 cable. lol it comes here and it has 3 and then it takes 2 wires to run my laptop, it's longer than I expected and if you have a laptop you have limited space. I was not satisfied with this speaker and have now ordered a speaker just smaller Requires 1 connection, I am returning this item.
