Review on New Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Standard Zoom Lens for Canon DSLR Cameras (White Box) by Ae Ra ᠌

I didn't like it, I don't recommend buying.

Sometimes 18-55 is better than this one, but each has its own shortcomings and the listed shortcomings may seem like nonsense to an inexperienced user, but I would not buy it. Maybe not all 15-135 lenses have such characteristics as mine, but it remains a fact, maybe someone will come across a good copy. This lens is good for shooting outdoors in good weather, but it doesn't do well indoors, especially in low light.

Pros
  • Price, ergonomics, weight, range of focal lengths, stabilizer. Auto focus works well. It's all! I didn't see any improvement in image quality.
Cons
  • I'll start with the smallest. At a long focus in the viewfinder, it is dark at the edges, but it’s good that this is not noticeable in the photo. It soaps, but not all the time, maybe only I have one, the stabilizer works not badly, but soap also does not always affect. Distorts the image, this is especially noticeable if you shoot objects with even corners and sides. Distortion occurs not only in the pictures, but also in the viewfinder, but in the pictures it is expressed less than what is visible to the eye when shooting. Color aberrations along the contour are quite strong and also unpredictable, like soap, sometimes stronger, sometimes weaker, sometimes not at all. Perhaps that's all. The lens was bought with a Canon 650D, but was also used on a 60D, the result is the same.
