Review on Upgrade your Honda or Acura with the USA SPEC BT45-HON3 Bluetooth Phone, Music & AUX Input Kit: Compatible with 2003-2014 Models by Jason Childs

Our cars had wired versions of these devices for many years. The new Bluetooth model is really good. It's great not having to plug in your phone to play music. In 9 out of 10 cases my phone (after the first pairing) automatically connects to the car and the music starts immediately. Installation Note: If you had a wired version, you can disconnect the module and connect a new one. It has exactly the same connection. I got lucky with the cables too, I was able to use the old cables to run the new ones. This did the installation in both of our machines in less than a couple of minutes as I had previously installed them in accessible locations. Maybe I'm lucky, I'll take it. Cons: I spent almost 2 days before ordering to determine if the USB port shown in the photos works for music playback or just as a charging port. Research was fruitless and I went ahead and ordered assuming it would work as most modern cars only have this functionality. To my disappointment, as soon as I took the product out of the box, I found a sticker on the USB port that said "USB for charging only". Having had Bluetooth issues in the past, I like to secure a wired connection. If you can't use Bluetooth on this device and need to charge while playing music, you need to connect AUX and USB cable. If it was in the product description I wouldn't be surprised when I took it out of the box which would lead me to probably give it five stars. Maybe two stars is an exaggeration on docking, but if they cared enough to put a sticker on the USB port to let me know something isn't possible, then they should have cared enough to put it in the product description so that customers like us do not have to guess and/or be surprised.
