Good but not for dog agility gear

This is the best value product for texture paint but it wasn't enough for my dog agility gear. The texture is better suited to making things like steps less slippery for people. Dog agility gear needs a much more realistic grip texture, so I'd just buy a sandbag. I first painted my gear with SkidTex added to the exterior paint and it did what it said but certainly not enough for a dog to walk on an A frame. So after laying each of the two pieces of the A-frame flat, I applied a second coat by throwing a couple handfuls of fine sand between the slats, then pouring the appropriate amount of paint over it and blending with a cheap two-inch brush. spread it around, covering the spikes on both edges as well. I did this between each set of spikes, using about 1-2 cups of fine sand in each area and adding color to make a slurry. It worked great! The texture is almost the same as the official rubber bead/epoxy finish you'll find on try, but for literally 1/4 the price.

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • Little things
