I never liked midgets but when I saw this little guy I was intrigued. It arrived in a beautiful red box that was dented and torn. . . I assumed it was excess inventory that they were trying to clear. Inside, to my surprise, was a printed note calling people to prosperity in 2022, so this is new. I would definitely not give it away in the box it came in, but others shouldn't have such damage. The gnome is wrapped in a plastic bag and gives off a slight odor when opened, but this disappears. Although I had loose threads and zippers in the knitted hat, I was able to fix it without any problems, but otherwise the seams were completely sewn and there were no problems with the processing. It has a weighted base that keeps it upright and the materials are soft and durable. The description says it's 17 inches tall, but right out of the box it's 9 inches tall. If you want him to be taller, you can straighten his hat (as shown in the photo). The cap has a thick wire that easily keeps its shape. The pattern on the knitted hat looks different than what is shown in the listing but I didn't feel that took away from the appeal. Made in China.
