So I recently built a PC case and needed a webcam to work from home. I've been using a fairly well-equipped Lenovo Carbon X1 laptop for a while, and the webcam on it was enough to get me through. But when I hooked up this Amcrest webcam, I didn't realize just how much webcams have improved over the past few years. Setup was very easy. I'm using Windows 10, just plugged it in and installed it in less than a minute. I was able to use it with Microsoft Teams (which I use for work) and the video quality is MUCH better than the laptop I used before. Very clear image and much better low light performance. The mounting clip was easy to attach to my curved monitor, it's 32 inches so a bit big but easy to tilt to the right height. There's even a built-in tripod mount, which was a nice bonus, but I won't be using it. My only minor complaint is that the design looks like it has a ring of light on each side of the camera. If it isn't, the light only shows you when the camera is active. I wish they were more powerful and acted like a flash/light, but to be honest the low light performance is good enough that it doesn't bother me. I've used the last few days for work, overall a great camera for the price. and exceeded my expectations.
