Review on πŸ“» ABBREE Dual Band VHF/UHF Tactical Antenna - High Gain Foldable Whip for Baofeng UV-5R UV-82 BF-F8HP Ham Radio by Chad Carter

Antenna improvement with a rubber duck. But there are much better options.

I bought this for my portable ham radio and it arrived today. After a short reception test it turned out that my V85 antenna was a bit better. I bought this to disassemble the main body of the antenna and replace with a measured and tested length for better propagation and reception in remote areas. I've made several similar antennas with a military whip design, but I'm having trouble with the base where it attaches to the radio. Based on this, I can easily adapt it to my needs. This is a good antenna if you want to play airsoft or just play army. The reception is not much better than that of a conventional rubber duck antenna. Can have better transmission range. I haven't fully tested it yet. But as a seasoned ham, I recommend spending a few bucks more and getting a Nagoya 771 or Diamond brand antenna if you really need an efficient antenna. They may not look as "cool" but they are way better. I only bought it to take apart and use certain parts for my own projects.
