📻 ABBREE Dual Band VHF/UHF Tactical Antenna - High Gain Foldable Whip for Baofeng UV-5R UV-82 BF-F8HP Ham Radio Review

I thought I'd buy a real Abree foldable antenna but got the equivalent of a McDonald's straw the inside of which didn't work. Twice as thin as Abbere's original, this fake is just a piece of junk. I've included a few photos to show how flimsy it is in comparison, as well as the original's packaging (green and nicely wrapped in bubble wrap) and that straw with antenna markings.

Bought to redirect my 40" Abbree flat antenna from the front of my license plate bracket to the back and it worked great. The cable does not interfere with signal transmission/reception at all. My only gripe is that the connection type rules out any possibility of weatherproofing, but since I'm only using it with a stock Baofeng BF8-HP it doesn't look like it was originally waterproof. if they could change the design to still provide some sort of seal against the elements. 1. This works with the Baofeng UV-5R. The base of the antenna is wide so it may not be suitable for other radios with a narrow antenna. In addition, the SMA connector sits deep. Some adapters might be too small, but I was able to fit an SMA to BNC adapter to use the short BNC cable that comes with the wireless package. I bought this to disassemble the main body of the antenna and replace with a measured and tested length for better propagation and reception in remote areas. I mean you could make this thing pretty simple, it's just a tape measure and shrink wrap and a diode or something with a coil in the base. This is not a review telling you how handy this antenna is. Obviously if I were to buy one I think it should be her.
