I bought these plates for Thanksgiving dinner as I am hosting more people than I have nice dishes and some of the group will be eating outside on the patio. They look pretty good from above so I would give them five stars for the table setting. But as soon as you pick them up, you can tell they're plastic - the panels are quite thin and flexible around the edges. Not skinny, but skinny. I think they're heavy enough for dinner, but I wouldn't risk washing them in the dishwasher and probably won't use them again. Overall the price was right and they will do the job I need them for but after reading such rave reviews I admit I was hoping they would be more convincing than they are.
