This backpack was awesome. The detachable backpack was fantastic for our day trips, hikes and more. We were able to put the hydration pack in the backpack laptop/tablet pocket which was so convenient! I like that the bag opens on the side, which makes packing easier than most top-loading models. The large backpack works as overhead luggage while the smaller one fits under the seat! We were able to take our bags on every flight we took during our month long trip to Asia! The multiple ways of carrying the bag made it easy to feel balanced even when I was on crutches on the way home! The only downside is that I wish the overly rigid top compartment would open in the opposite direction. When the bag lays down and opens to load, the top compartment opens down and things fall out. All in all, my husband and I love our backpacks and would recommend them to anyone planning a long trip with only carry-on luggage. bags!
