The seal is of poor quality! for plumbing

I had to buy a kit in February 2020 for two identical toilets that I installed in 2012. That tells me that Kohler GENUINE seals have lasted almost 8 years. By October I had to replace the set I bought in February for both toilets. They failed each other within a few months. I've been looking very closely and it turns out these bubbles are slowly adding up to your water bill over time. Bubbles should increase over time, causing the cylinder to periodically lose its tightness. over time, the leakage interval becomes shorter and the leakage time longer. I checked the second toilet and found that it does the same thing for the same reason. I photographed both seals and accidentally left one in my shop. I was ready to throw it away but the 3 blisters I caught were gone. Apparently, if you let these sealants dry for a long time, the bubble will go away. This means they bind water through the pores in the material and swell up. I'm disposing of the spare set I bought, calling it a lesson learned. Never buy anything other than genuine Kohler parts. They cost twice as much and in this case about 16 TIMES LONGER. That doesn't even include all the money I've lost from inflated water bills! DON'T BE THE BEST AND BUY CHEAP, BAD PARTS FROM IMPRESSA!
