Most of the time the arrow is pointing in the wrong direction and the range can be off by 30 meters (good luck finding a car in a big/full lot). I understand that it should indicate the direction "in a straight line", ie. in a straight line, however there were times when I was in an open field and could visually see my waypoint and the needle went 90 degrees the wrong way. I've used this item many times while hiking and it's always hit or miss, sometimes the arrow points in the right direction, sometimes not. There were times when I was walking towards a waypoint and reading the number on the remote display (which is fixed) but the arrow was pointing in the opposite direction. DO NOT rely on this unit to return to your setpoint.
