The ideal charger, the best of tools and gadgets

This charger is amazing. Very easy to use and very impressive performance for its size. Smart charging profiles and the ability to "desulfate" (or whatever the ripple actually does) revived my 11 year old wet BMW battery that was no longer fully charged. In the car, the battery was charged to a maximum of 10.6 volts (measured after a long drive and 12 hours of rest), but still had enough power for a cold start. Very low voltage caused the engine to misfire severely, as well as a variety of trouble codes, including several "faulty" sensors, and resulted in the "Check Engine" light illuminating. I removed the battery and left it on this charger for 7 weeks while I was abroad. The battery now holds a constant 12.2V charge (at rest) and the car runs smoothly again with no reported trouble codes or sensor failures. Since then I've left this charger plugged in overnight as often as I can to see if the battery continues to improve, but it seems to have peaked. I may need to replace the battery but it's quite impressive that the 11 year old battery is still working, thanks in part to this charger! For reference, a new car battery should hold a 12.66V charge (after 12 hours without charging). A battery with a hard sulphation that runs out quickly is not recoverable. My battery was still able to hold a strong charge despite very low voltage and so recovered quite well. My battery has a simple hydrometer built into it with a sight glass to measure the state of charge. A green dot in the sight glass indicates a fully charged battery and a black dot indicates the battery needs charging. Once it turns yellow, the battery should be replaced. My display was constantly black until I used this charger. Now it glows green. This is the ideal charger to leave connected over the weekend or when the car is not in use, mainly to prevent hard sulphation, keep the battery in top condition and maximize its lifespan. that a bad battery, if recoverable, can last weeks and may never reach its full (like new) capacity.
