Review on Cutting-Edge Gold Dollar Club Cut πŸ’ˆ Throat Straight Razor – The Ultimate Shaving Experience! by Leslie Ojoh

You never know what you're getting until you get it.

I love a good razor. I've been using them since I was 19 (I'm 43 now) and the feel of a properly sharpened razor is like no other shaving method. After hearing mixed reviews I decided to buy a few different gold dollar razors to try for myself. The first thing that struck me about this particular razor is that it's not quite the same shape as the picture. Almost like what I received, I had excessive wear towards the heel. The edge bevel was also too wide, which usually happens when you have a thick edge or a thin spine. I don't hear the term "ready-to-shave" for any blade as that's rarely true unless you have fairly soft facial hair. I tested it on plain horse leather after a light touch and it definitely wasn't ready to shave for my face. So I took it to my black Arkansas stone. Gave it a few light "X" hits, tweaked it, and tried again. It got a little better, but still not as smooth as we'd like. Also noticed it was weird on my stone. So I brought it back to the stone and noticed the same weird feedback as I sharpened. I rubbed the blade and noticed an odd scratch. Or at least I thought it was a scratch. It's a super small crack. Which at least explains the feedback I got while honing. The other gold dollar razors I got around the same time were good, although they also needed sharpening and showed no signs of wear. I'll just have to write it off as an accident. Things happen.
