All shanks are smaller. I have a Dremel tool (model 4200) with a quick release pliers (no wrench. You lower the spring loaded lever to set the bit, then release and it locks in place). These sanding attachments are so small that they go in (and out!) without releasing the lever, so there's absolutely no chance they'll work. I have measured the waves with calipers and they are 0.1155 instead of the advertised 0.125. The ones with the 1/4" shank are also smaller. Amazing that they left the factory with such an obvious defect. Very poor quality control.
