Perfection in camera and photography

A costly lesson I've learned over the past 30 years of my passion for photography: Get the right equipment first, even if it's very expensive, and don't keep swapping cheap out because the cheap ones will cost you more in the long run. Been there, done โ€“ too many times. This systematic Gitzo tripod is one such example. Although light, it is made like a tank with the highest quality of workmanship. It will outlive my life, and that's a quality I was willing to pay for, knowing I wouldn't have to think about replacing it again with something else. While I absolutely must keep it with me, its resale value will be fantastic if I take good care of it. I picked it as ideal for me for the following reasons, in addition to the Gitzo's obvious qualities: 1) stiffest - minimal vibration - but lightweight; 2) the maximum payload is enough to easily handle a load of at least 2-3 times the load of my equipment; 3) without center column; 4) not 5-piece; 5) Tall enough to reach my 5ft 8in height at eye level but short enough to fit in a backpack. short trips. For plane travel and long or difficult hikes, I chose the Gitzo GT1545T Traveler as the perfect tripod. Both tripods cover everything I will ever need. every shot unless you invest in an extra center post. At 5'8" it's about eye level with a ball head and camera on it. Perfect for me as I don't need anything taller for my shooting needs. Although Really Right Stuff always overprices their products, much to my annoyance (even for something like (a 1/4" to 3/8" sleeve they charge at least double that just because RRS sells it) I have their BH-55 LR ball head ($489) paired with a tripod. If you can afford it I highly recommend it as it is built like a tank with the highest build quality, if not there are other great options at a much cheaper price.

Am I insane for spending this much on a tripod ?
