Am I crazy if I spent so much on a tripod?

Maybe, but I don't regret it one bit. Actually it's not that hard and I'm a small person. I carry it in my big backpack when I walk around my urban area. This thing is beautiful and sooooo easy to use. What matters to me is how fast I can get a great shot? How stable is the tripod?

Pros
  • Camera and Photo
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options

Compact, lightweight, yet strong

I bought two of these to use with my medium format film cameras; basically SL66-SE and. Pentax 67. These are relatively heavy cameras and being 120 film DSLRs they produce a lot of specular shake: so a really strong tripod is required. Paired with the RRS BH-55 they are perfect. And surprisingly light/compact. So far very satisfied.

Pros
  • Tripods and monopods
Cons
  • Reliability

Perfection in camera and photography

A costly lesson I've learned over the past 30 years of my passion for photography: Get the right equipment first, even if it's very expensive, and don't keep swapping cheap out because the cheap ones will cost you more in the long run. Been there, done – too many times. This systematic Gitzo tripod is one such example. Although light, it is made like a tank with the highest quality of workmanship. It will outlive my life, and that's a quality I was willing to pay for, knowing I wouldn't have to

  • There are mistakes too
