Unfortunately, the line loop is made of a very weak metal that breaks easily. Our young lab blender pulled (not very hard) causing the metal to bend and it pulled away, freeing it. We were lucky that he had already responded to voice commands to stay, otherwise he would have run into the street. I have never had this problem with any other collar. Other brands we tried were better made. This collar may be sufficient for a small dog and/or a dog that doesn't pull at all no matter what. But I wouldn't risk a surprise. Too bad because the collar itself is very soft and has an extra rectangular "loop" just for the tags, which is nice. We wish it would work, but it was dangerously cheap to build.
