This pendant light is simply gorgeous. Unfortunately I can't install it myself as I had problems removing an existing light fixture in my house that was due to be replaced (no junction box to begin with). Don't be afraid to hire a professional to install it as I have to do it. However, if you are lucky and your situation is better, you should have no problem installing this light yourself. I will install it in my living room. I have found that it hangs too low when assembled from the shortest rod and cone. So I looked into the construction of the mount and found that you can mount the canopy directly onto the cone without using a small 6 inch extension. The problem is solved! If you look at the canopy, it has a male threaded nipple connector that screws into the swivel mechanism. ). If you require the full length of all extension poles, simply leave the male nipple on the dome and use as many or fewer extension poles to achieve your desired length. You can also remove the cone and just use extensions for a different look. But if you ask me, it's that taper that really brings out the mid-range look of this lamp. So leave that now that I've revealed the secret of assembly to you. The cork is beautiful and different. This lamp is about 22 inches in diameter, so very significant. Perfect for a large room as it doesn't get lost in the room size. Also suitable for the dining room. I wouldn't put it in a smaller space like a bedroom as it would likely overcrowd the space. It takes three regular standard bulbs and can be used with a dimmer (just make sure you use dimmable bulbs too!). Buy, install and love!
