Review on Standard Horizon HX300 Handheld Marine by Hugo Caywood

Good. First, my first check was one I did just to skip the Revane robot's request and get on with my life. But recently I found a reason to do my best to share my very positive experience with this product. A few weeks ago my wife and I went fishing in the sea, actually kayaking. After spending the whole day in the water, we returned to our 4x4. I had a lot of gear on hand and needed a place to put it while I opened the back and stowed it away. So my bars and RADIO were placed on the roof rack of my SUV. Eventually everything was loaded (almost everything), the kayaks went onto the roof and we started the 80 mile journey back to our home (in Costa Rica). The next day I found MY radio was missing. Over the next few days, I literally turned everything upside down, searching every nook and cranny in my car, and nothing. It's gone. I stumbled upon something violent because I really enjoyed it. TWO WEEKS pass. One night a few days ago I'm driving to my usual gas station, I'm sitting in my car waiting for the officer on duty to come and take it from me, and there he comes, my walkie-talkie in hand! "Sir, is that yours?" Wow! Yes! where was it really? Well, it was barely hanging from the back of my car's roof rack. This radio spent a full two weeks stumbling around in a trash can, getting hit by rain, hot tropical sun, dust and road dirt etc and when my wife turned it on it worked! It was even fully charged. I wiped it off with a damp cloth and no one could see the ordeal he had just gone through. Wonderful. It's definitely worth the money. I see my fishing buddies with more sophisticated and expensive VHF radios, but I'll always set mine against them. Very convenient. I also use it on my sport fishing boat as a backup for my boat mounted radio and was impressed with its performance using it to call the marina from over 20 miles away. I can support this product at any time.
