Easy setup, reasonable price, a worthy candidate for an extender or home wireless access point.

#rockspace AX1800 Review##Packaging and ContentsMy router was well packaged and arrived within a few days. The inner box with the router was easy to open. The contents - router, power supply unit and Ethernet cable - could be removed from the individual packaging without any problems.##Documentation The user manual that came with the router was easy to understand. The print is quite small, but each step is well represented. The English version of the guide is easy to understand and doesn't have the usual translation issues that often cause confusion. Quick Installation Guide*. My existing router is configured with DHCP. Otherwise, I was able to complete all the remaining steps with no issues. I pre-read the manual so I know what to expect and not just idle start the installation process. As a result, I connected my first device and used the AX1800 for 20 minutes. No issues or glitches.##Performance I have other WiFi extenders including some from the Rock Space so I was able to run parallel tests. I compared the 5GB range of the Rock Space AX1800 to the 5GB range of my ISP provided router. The AX1800 was noticeably faster on both boot tests and boot tests run multiple times for consistency. To do this, I bought a long Ethernet cable that ran down the stairs and around a few corners. I had to promise my wife that this was a temporary installation. Having other Rock Space Wi-Fi extenders, I compared the AX1800's "range" to these. As you might expect, the AX1800 compares very well with its newer technology. I was able to get a connection on the 5GHz band to the end of my backyard. Something previously not possible. Now I'm thinking about making the temporary setting permanent. ## Conclusion The AX1800 offers excellent value for money. The ease of setup and use makes it affordable for every family. If you're considering a wireless access point or extender, the AX1800 is a solid choice.
