Like many other reviewers, I have an AT-LP120 USB player. This is an entry-level desk and it made sense to spend $249 to go back to vinyl records and see if you need one. If I decide to upgrade my player in the future, I plan to spend around $675-$1000 to see a noticeable improvement. To date I have upgraded my AT-LP120. It comes with a standard AT95E cartridge (worth $49) and after swapping it out for a rubber mat and heavier counterweight, I replaced my cartridge with a Nagaoka MP-110. The improvement was immediate, adding clarity and presence and creating the "you're there" wow factor. I say that in comparison to Sumiko Pearl. Pearl is another great choice of cartridge, but it lacks the immediate presence of the MP-110. I bought a pickup + headbody to quickly replace with my existing Pearl headbody. I am very satisfied with the Nagaoka MP-110.
