It also fits well on the shell

I switched to this from the AT92E. What an improvement. The mids and highs are crisper and clearer, the bass is deeper. Surface noise is greatly reduced in older recordings and tracked very well. It also installed well on the shell, plug and play in my case. Worth the extra small payout. All in all, I couldn't be happier with this purchase. It's worth upgrading if you have a cheap cartridge. My system sounds very different. At its finest My system: Kenwood Model Nine GXPioneer PL-560Realistoc…

Apart from the price I'm very impressed

I bought MP110 to replace AT95E with LP-120, the difference is huge. For less than $200 this is the best cassette I have ever heard. It reduces the noise level, the separation of the left and right channels is very clear, giving a warm and very natural sound. Other reviewers don't joke when it comes to the live aspect of the MP110, I definitely felt like I was in the same room with the artist(s). This is a fantastic cartridge even if you don't consider the excellent price. I wouldn't mind a…

Pros
  • Everything great!
Cons
  • There are nuances

Wow. simply amazing sounding and well built pickup. The alignment was accurate when I put it on my old Technics SL-Q3. BUT. that's the problem. that excessively arched instep of the toe is somewhat redundant. so much so that when I autoplay/return to tech the hand goes up. it hits the bottom of the dust cover and scratches it. So I had to improvise and add some raised bumpers to keep the dust cover higher. because there wasn't enough room to lower the height of the arm and clean the side of the

Precise, beautiful sound.

This cartridge is amazing. Even on an old Sony turntable, this cartridge reproduced detail and nuance across the spectrum from low to high and even at fairly low volumes. It has increased my enjoyment of my record collection, especially female vocals, jazz and classical records. Voices have a realistic sense of presence with this device. This pickup doesn't seem to color the sound, make it warmer or more technical. In my opinion you can hear precision and detail without sacrificing bass or…

Growth cartridge

Like many other reviewers, I have an AT-LP120 USB player. This is an entry-level desk and it made sense to spend $249 to go back to vinyl records and see if you need one. If I decide to upgrade my player in the future, I plan to spend around $675-$1000 to see a noticeable improvement. To date I have upgraded my AT-LP120. It comes with a standard AT95E cartridge (worth $49) and after swapping it out for a rubber mat and heavier counterweight, I replaced my cartridge with a Nagaoka MP-110. The…

Great cartridge but be careful with the shell hook

I bought this cartridge based on reviews and listening. It has great sound that you can listen to all day long. The bass is present and tight, but not boomy. There are maxima; including hearing the sounds of frets and hi-hats the way it should be. The cartridge lives up to its reputation. Raising the shell was problematic on my Kenwood HD-4100 turntable. Its lifting hook (for your finger) would constantly get caught in the transparent dust cover, making playback extremely problematic. (Photo…

This car is way better than its class

If you are looking for an awesome car, this car will do what $300-$400 cars do. No car at this price can do what the mp110 does. Nagaoka is my favorite and mp110 is the champion. Paired with the Schiit Mani Pre Amp it's the perfect combination. Bet on it. I saw a review in Revain that said this car lacked bass and clarity. It's crazy. Personal preference? Excellent. If you have stereo and no subwoofer connection and you have 8 inch woofers: OK, maybe the bass is lower than the 2m red, but…

Hands down the best cartridge for the price

I recently bought an Audio Technica LP120 and some Wharfedale 225 Diamond speakers and was looking to upgrade my cartridge (AT95E) to something that would work with my system. I've researched all over the internet and asked a few DJ friends which cartridge I should get and everything pointed to this one. It seems to be something of a word of mouth among audiophiles - it certainly doesn't get the press that Ortofon and Audio Technically do. My guess is that if you're reading this review, like…
