I switched to this from the AT92E. What an improvement. The mids and highs are crisper and clearer, the bass is deeper. Surface noise is greatly reduced in older recordings and tracked very well. It also installed well on the shell, plug and play in my case. Worth the extra small payout. All in all, I couldn't be happier with this purchase. It's worth upgrading if you have a cheap cartridge. I bought MP110 to replace AT95E with LP-120, the difference is huge. For less than $200 this is the best cassette I have ever heard. It reduces the noise level, the separation of the left and right channels is very clear, giving a warm and very natural sound. BUT. that's the problem. that excessively arched instep of the toe is somewhat redundant. so much so that when I autoplay/return to tech the hand goes up. it hits the bottom of the dust cover and scratches it. This cartridge is amazing. Even on an old Sony turntable, this cartridge reproduced detail and nuance across the spectrum from low to high and even at fairly low volumes. I bought this cartridge based on reviews and listening. It has great sound that you can listen to all day long. The bass is present and tight, but not boomy. There are maxima; including hearing the sounds of frets and hi-hats the way it should be. The cartridge lives up to its reputation. Raising the shell was problematic on my Kenwood HD-4100 turntable. If you are looking for an awesome car, this car will do what $300-$400 cars do. No car at this price can do what the mp110 does. Nagaoka is my favorite and mp110 is the champion.
