Our new 70 lb dog is very responsive on the leash and will lunge at other dogs on walks. We used a regular leash which I wrapped around my hand to shorten when we saw another dog approaching. However, one day she managed to pull expectantly and break my little finger! A few months later my finger has healed but I still don't have full grip strength and am worried it might happen again even though she is less reactive now. I got this leash for the neoprene handles that allow me to hold it securely and prevent the leash from unintentionally wrapping around my wrist. I like the feel of the grip and the control I have. My only complaint is that the shorter motion handle is too short and I leaned forward to keep it from stretching and pulling on the seat belts. We fixed this minor issue by purchasing a 12 inch extension cord (different brand) from your local pet store. We use this leash every day and now I wouldn't use any other leash. The two handles make it a bit heavier than a normal leash, but we got used to it quickly.
