In many cases, new technologies do not result in improved product quality. Not so with this helmet. It's insanely light, doesn't feel too bulky, and protects your head way better than a typical half-shell helmet and almost as well as a full-face helmet. a size smaller. I usually run a large size with most major shoe manufacturers and had to return the large size I originally ordered and exchanged for an XL. My head is 23 inches and the XL fits like a glove right out of the box. The helmet comes with pads of different sizes that you can use to adjust the fit. Also note that this helmet does not have a standard scale on the back of the helmet to allow for tightening. To be honest it's designed so you don't need this feature and I'm pretty sure in the event of an accident we'll stay put. Because it's transparent, Fox's size chart for this helmet model is different than most other helmets. Helmets and table showed that I'm XL. I have used this helmet in trail and enduro MTB riding. The vents are well designed and provide enough airflow for cooling. Speaking of cool stuff, the headband's magnetic closure mechanism is a definite improvement over the outdated clip-on closures.
