Review on πŸ” OOK 50085 Adhesive Hanger: Reliable Hooks and Eyelet Sets (3lb, 3 Pack) by Morgan Gilmore

Used with Gorilla Glue for hanging plates

I used them upside down to hang plates on the kitchen wall. I didn't rely on glue for these things and didn't use a whole pair of hangers + grommets for each panel. Instead, I applied a dab of Gorilla glue to the back of each panel near the top (but far enough from the edge that it wouldn't be visible when hanging), placed the fabric portion of a hanger strip over the glue, and pressed it down. up to the stop (eye hole up to top edge of plate). The plate only needed half a pair of hangers + grommets, so I was able to hang two plates on a pair. When I used half of the hanger on the panel I just bent the hanger so it was flat as I won't be using that part. I let the Gorilla Glue dry for 24 hours. All of my plates were the size of a saucer or dinner table, so I'm not concerned about the weight. I have tested the adhesive connection and it has proven to be very reliable. I used thin-headed nails going through the hinge/hanger holes to hang the panels on the wall. I drove each nail into the wall at a slight upward angle and placed the eyelet hole over the nail - done! The records are solid and I didn't have to use those ugly brass record hangers on 15 records. I didn't like that the glue is almost non-existent, it feels very flimsy if I relied on that instead of Gorilla glue and I'd be disappointed. For this reason I am deducting a star. Otherwise they worked exactly as I needed them to.

Pros
  • To attach, dampen glue and allow 5 minutes to dry before hanging item
Cons
