Lightweight plastic failed after 3 days of use

Purchased to fit the Thule Pack-n-Pedal Tour rear mount. Embark on a 21-day bike tour. I was carrying 30 pounds on my back (Thule max weight is 50 pounds). The lightweight plastic frame burst on one side on day 3. On the 7th day the other side ruptured. I lightened the load on the back and secured it with a combination of pointed green sticks and duct tape. Thule's description of "lightweight plastic" best describes this product. If you use them, have a backup plan, be prepared to do trail repairs, and treat them as disposables. I would limit them to the daily commute.
