Pros: They're nice and thick. They didn't smell very good because of the styrofoam. They close tight. The pins that come with the kit are fine, just enough to block a project with wires sticking or a smaller project with no wires sticking. The box they came in is handy for storage. Bad: The lines do NOT align perfectly no matter how you rotate the blocks. They're close, but they're not perfect. It took me a while to rotate them so that they were more or less lined up. Not all tiles are the same thickness - some are thicker, some are thinner and when you put them together, your carpets may not be perfectly flat even on the flattest surface, but there are small protrusions. BUT. That being said, they definitely hold knits well and I've even blocked them fairly tightly and the rugs didn't curl up or move. Would I recommend her? May be. I would probably recommend a cheaper item to someone as I expect that more expensive item to be better than it is.
