UPDATE: The second one didn't work. (Hmmm took only 1 year 4 months compared to the first one).
After fairly minimal use the 4840 only lasted 4 months past the factory warranty. I just ordered another one, but this time I bought an extended warranty. Offer the same to anyone who can read this. UPDATE: Bought a new 4840 and guess what won't vacuum. Another meat loss, the first was sent back to the factory. I'm returning this one, but it's worth less than the meat I lost.
