At least not in our bathroom. The suction cups are only on the edge and they don't seem to stick very well, but that's enough. This is because the entire underside is a good non-slip surface that is fused to the main body of the mat. With my weight on one leg, I can't get it to slide even if I hold on to the shower rod and squeeze it. It's thinner than the others we've used, but soft, pillowy, prone to slipping and falling in my opinion. I don't understand the reviews complaining about the suction cups coming loose. They stick very well to the outside edge, which is a strong three-quarter inch wide strip of fiber-reinforced rubberized plastic that's much better than other similar mats we've used. We never had the slightest problem getting it up.
